CantrolCord is collar and leash in one and designed to assist in controlling dogs that pull, charge or misbehave. The collar is only there to keep the lead in place and should have a very loose fitting. The lead, which is wrapped around the chest of the dog, does all the work without causing choking.

When the dog pulls there is a tugging action of the lead around the chest and a tightening on top of the shoulder blades. This sensation reminds the dog of when it was picked up by its mother by the scruff of the neck. Whatever age the dog is, this sensation still triggers an instinctive reaction of submission and therefore the dog will either stop, slow down or even sit or lay down.

To use the lead correctly it should preferably be slack when the dog behaves. This will create a bigger impact when it is needed. The action of the lead is mostly on the dog and little on the walker and minimizes the risk of hurting your shoulder or being pulled off balance.

CantrolCord can also be used for correctional purpose. Tugging the lead at the right moment will give the dog a warning or a correction without hurting the neck. Tug and release will slow an excitable dog right down.
